To those asking about a consensus: I'm giving Drew a chance to respond, but the result of the vote is that an RFR should be set up.

Well, if you want to look at it like that then a re-vote is necessary. But if everyone sticks with their same opinion, the votes are going to come out the exact same way I proposed. If you want to open another vote and go another couple weeks just for the sake of doing it "properly", that's fine. But unless people are changing their opinions, it'd just be a waste of time.

EDIT: Just to clarify, by "re-vote" I mean what Harold proposed, with just the two options rather than three.

Obi, if we actually want to see what the popular opinion is, then we'll be much better off having another vote rather than just settling with questionable results because we felt that the vote has lasted too long.

I personally don't feel as if it'd be wrong to merge the new moderators rights with patroller or chat moderator, so I'm willing to do that if there's no objections. But if you guys don't think that'd be right, then I'm also willing to open another vote, hopefully a quicker one, that will give us more accurate results. Just let me know what you'd like to do so that we can get things moving.

I'm not sure why you think this vote wasn't accurate? There was nothing wrong with the vote. The option of setting up an RFR got the highest number of votes, so we should select that option. It's really quite simple, and one of the most basic voting methods (plurality).

I understand the voting method, and I that's what I disagree with - I think it gave us inaccurate results. There were basically two ideas in this thread. The moderator rights should remain as their own right and get the whole usual RfR and everything, or they should be merged with another right. But since the latter idea was slit into two options, the vote was also split giving us results that are accurate to this voting method, but questionable as to what the popular opinion really is.
