Admin Discussions moved to the Wiki

<p>This vote is for gauging the community's perspective on whether or not we admins should move almost all of our discussions (except those that necessitate secrecy, such as IP checks and the like) onto the wiki, thanks to Bourgeoisie's call for this with his recent blog, as well as sentiments voiced by me and Obi the LEGO Fan. This vote would further transparency and community involvement. A possible con for this arrangement, however, could be enlarged arguments amongst users. This vote would not mean that it's a done deal, though, as we admins would need to fully support this as it would be a large undertaking. One I think would be worth it, personally. </p><p>A) Yes: 21 votes </p><p>B) No: 16 votes </p><p>C) Neutral: 1 vote </p><p>Reasons aren't required but please supply your thoughts. Admins, please do so as well. </p><p>EDIT: <i>Here's a draft of policy to go with this admin discussions forum, which would be called Community Discussions.</i> </p><p>"<i> 1. All discussions that take place in this forum are discussions that impact the entire community, and are the only discussions allowed in Community Discussions. This includes discourse over policies, user rights, MoS, wiki features, skins, etc. </i> </p><p><i> 2. Discussions not allowed to take place in Community Discussions, and instead in the private admin site, are those that pertain to things that do not affect the entire community or necessitate secrecy. This includes the beginning stages of deliberating about potential sockpuppets and IP checks.</i> </p><p><i> 3. All forum rules apply, and with a special stressing on there being no fighting, flame wars, personal attacks, etc. Civil conversations are to be espoused at all times. </i>" </p><p>Result: Community Discussions board created. Admin discussions will begin to commence in said board, all of which visible to the community and open to opining and discourse from the community. </p>

<p>Why are we voting on this anyways? The admins could all just agree on this in their private admin wiki and then implement it on the community without any community input, discussion, opinions, or knowledge.

</p><p>That's what the 7 people who voted "No" have essentially voted for already. All the "No" votes are an example of why decisions should be being made by the community, not by the admins.

<p>I'm going to vote no as well. I support Rio's policy proposal, only I think we should only have to make use of Admin Voting rather than actually having the entire discussion in public. Admin Voting is technically mandatory, I just think we need to become much more strict about that. If we're able to stay on top of that, I think it offers plenty of transparency. </p>
