This is like a toned-down version of the "n-word" trying to be unblocked based on the fact that it, as a word, does not mean anything racist and we oughtn't cater to parents regarding what their child can and can't see, and in any case if a black person wants to say something about their own race, they should be allowed to describe it how they like.
Incoming Flugzeugabwerkanone from people who think that what I said is totally different from this vote.
Third, your analogy assumes that there are parents who don't want their children to see the word "boobs" or an equivalent. Quite frankly, that's absurd.
There are a lot of parents who don't want their kids to see that word, or any word associated with "private parts," I can assure you. My mother always tell me and my brothers to not say "penis," for instance.
I'm having a hard time comprehending that. :P But hey you learn something new every day
I know 0 parents who want their kids to see that word. It could be because most of my friends are male, but still. That's why I was surprised when this vote was made because I thought it was made only out of sheer rebellion. :P
?? But seriously how do you know what other people's parents think about that? :P (honest question)
I honestly did not know people legitimately thought the word "boobs" was inappropriate.
Because of situations, it's kind of a mutual understanding, around here anyway, that there are nicer ways to say what you need to. :P
It's honestly just the casual, most common word for breasts, guys, when you say your arm itches you don't go like "the epidermis on my forearm is irritating me;" I don't know how much you know about how girls casually talk, but that's a proper, realistic substitute for what it'd sound like. :P
THANK YOU Aravis. All of my female friends say boobs. My conclusion: Jdude and Avalair don't hang out with girls very much. :P
I'm a female and I do
not say that word. ANd my parents would be very displeased if I did. Many people can be offended by this word.
what do you call them then :p
They tend to get called "breasts." You know, what that high, high, high, posh-class society calls them?
Or, you know, anyone I associate with who isn't trying to sound like a middle-of-the-mainstream person with no sense of class and only appreciation for slang that is mostly used by males (especially young males) to sexualize the female body.
Mostly used by young females, actually, to complain about a particularly cumbersome body part. :P Do you talk to women? :P
Not to crude or low-class women. I prefer speaking to girls with intelligence more than I do much else. I've only heard them called "boobs" in impolite company.
Of course, there is the fact that the singular, "boob," is not blocked. For this reason, I have abstained from voting to begin with, because I find censoring the plural of an uncensored word to be quite frankly stupid.
