Obese isn't a slur that is demeaning to a community of marginalized individuals (e.g. the disabled community). People in the disabled community, afaik, are not saying that "stupid" is demeaning or a slur, if it ever was it has evolved past that, unlike the r-slur which is currently condemned by the disabled community. </p>

<p>I don't think anyone here will take offense to the word retarded. Some people might find it offensive. But I don't think that the people who take offense from it come here. And while we're at it, let's ban the word cracker too. </p>

So do many people with disabilities who are high-functioning and could easily be on this website if they wanted. </p>
