Recently a petition to block a user caused a lot of controversy, and apparently a lot of users do not believe the community should have a say in blocks. Thus, I'd like to hear their opinions on this despite this having previously been voted in by the community in the past.

Just so you are aware, a petition goes to the admins so the administrators can vote on it. The administrators have the right to say yes or no to any petition, the point of the petition is just to show them how the community feels about the matter.

There is a part of the decision which is taken by the community (the petition) and which shouldn't be. It's why I vote A.
