Vote To Remove The Word Filter

Does it really stop anyone from using bad words? And at that it only triggers an emoticon which you can still scroll over and see the word. So is it really worth having a word filter anymore? If we just simply remove it we can remove all of these "Vote to unblock the word ____" petitions as well. Just simply ban the user who disobeyed the rules like normal. By putting an end to the word filter we will also put an end to these stupid petitions to unblock Douche and Retard.

While I am certainly in favor of this proposition, the majority of the community (including all the CMs and admins that have voted) is opposed, many citing how it makes detection of infractions easier. So, I'll sit in my corner and overthink this for a while and still arrive at no conclusion. C.
