<p>I'm not really emotionally attached to this in any way, so I don't know how I couldn't be calm. Just seems like another instance of you being abusive, that's all. A better course might be for you to post a general comment asking people to explicitly state which option they prefer instead of commenting on every dissenting opinion. </p>

<p>Ale, do you really think that it is appropriate to be judging whether or not to include opposing votes when you support both proposals? Is there nobody without a conflict of interest that can do that? </p><p>Furthermore, the first question still has loaded wording, as Mad pointed out. That should be changed to something more neutral, like "should we enforce Wikia's global bans locally?" - anything which doesn't contain an implicit value judgement. </p>

<p>Just FYI, it is against Wikia's ToU to solicit information from minors. If you do vote to ban anyone who might be 12 and under (regardless of it not being your responsibility to), it would be best if you didn't go around actively asking users for their ages; that violates not only Wikia's ToU but also the point of COPPA - to protect underaged users - by revealing private information (age) about them. </p><p>I'd also like to reinforce that the best way to deal with 12 and unders is to privately report them to Wikia. Not everyone can see the reason for a global block, which is why a global block is the best way to enforce COPPA rather than local blocks which contain a reason. If you block/ban a user for being underage, then you are revealing information about them - exactly the opposite of the point of COPPA. </p>

<p>Or, you could take into account that the vast majority of wikis use a direct democratic / consensus-based model, and that this strange type of "representative democracy" is the exception. From a historical perspective, saying that admins here represent people is clearly more virtual representation than any proper type. Some of you US history types know what I mean ;-) </p>

<p>Direct democracies work great for wikis because they are small enough that everyone can have the chance to participate. Assuming that admins somehow represent users is pretty silly, considering that there are no explicit groups on this wiki (constituencies, parties, etc.) that admins could represent. </p>

<p>It's OK Sherm, all of the bugs have been worked out, but I'm waiting on a couple of things before I re-enable stuff. First of all, we are setting up the extension that we'll use for logging in, so that rather than creating your account, all you'll need to do is log in. I also am waiting for a functional image importing script, which should be finished by today or tomorrow. </p>
