On this wiki, four of the most important user rights are obtained through a request for rights process. This policy describes the different rules that apply to requesting rights, and explains how to close those requests. (Note: If a user requested demotion. They may get their rights back within a month if they wish.)

  • In order for a request to be valid, it must be made on the page specifically designed for the type of request. Requests made in forums, blogs, chat, or anywhere else are invalid, and will be deleted immediately.
  • When submitting a second request for the same right, be sure to place a (2) in the header, to let voters know this is your second request. The same should be done for additional requests. Also, make sure you have completed the mandatory waiting time specified in the following sections.

Closing a Request[]

  • If a candidate does not meet the requirements (listed below), then the request is considered invalid, and may be immediately closed by any user with administrator rights.
  • The request is to be closed 2 days after the last vote was made (whether it be support or oppose. Comments and neutral votes do not count, switching votes extends the limit once per user) if the 5 days since the vote was created have already passed.
  • A minimum of two votes (support or oppose) are required from the administrators before a request can be closed.
  • A request is not required to last 5 days if the following requirements are met:
  • If the request has 10 or more oppositions, with at least a 75% majority oppose.
  • If the request has the required number of supporting votes (listed below), and at least an 85% majority support.
  • An administrator may close any discussion moderator or chat moderator request if the above requirements are met. However, only bureaucrats may close administrator requests.

Patroller[]

  • Patrollers are trusted users who have experience in editing, and are granted some extra tools. This includes the ability to move files, rollback edits, and mark other users’ edits as patrolled (as well as having one's own edits automatically marked as patrolled).
  • Patroller rights are given to experienced editors who request the rights from an administrator.

Content Moderators[]

  • Content moderators are users with rights to delete, undelete and move pages and files, protect pages, rollback edits, and patrol pages. They are essentially administrators without the power to promote or demote, or block other users.
  • Content moderator rights are given to experienced patrollers who request the rights from a bureaucrat.

Chat Moderator[]

  • Chat Moderators are users who help to enforce the chat policy. These users are able to ban and kick non-moderators.
  • If their request fails, candidates must wait 4 weeks before submitting an additional request.
  • For a request to pass, the candidate must have at least 20 supporting votes, with at least 75% support out of the total supporting and opposing votes.
Requirements
  • At least 2 months on the Wiki.
  • At least 8 weeks without a block or ban.
  • The candidate should also have some experience outside of chat, with at least 75 edits in any namespace.

Discussion Moderators[]

  • Discussion moderators are users with rights to remove and restore threads and replies from any user, close and reopen threads, manage forum boards, move threads, highlight and un-highlight threads, moderate chat (CM rights are built in), delete blog comments, and edit and delete article comments.
  • If their request fails, candidates must wait 4 weeks before submitting an additional request.
  • For a request to pass, the candidate must have at least 20 supporting votes, with at least 75% support out of the total supporting and opposing votes.
Requirements
  • At least 150 edits on threads.
  • At least two months without a block or ban.
  • At least 3 months on the Wiki.
  • Chat Moderator rights at time of nomination.

Administrator[]

  • Administrators are leaders of the wiki, having all the rights of Discussions Moderators and Content Moderators, as well as dozens of other tools. See the administrator page for more information.
  • If their request fails, candidates must wait 8 weeks before submitting an additional request.
  • For a request to pass, the candidate must have at least 25 supporting votes, with at least 75% support out of the total supporting and opposing votes.
  • Only bureaucrats are authorized to close and archive administrator requests.
Requirements
  • At least 6 months on the Wiki.
  • A minimum of 6 months on the LMBW without a block or ban.
  • A minimum of 2 months of active experience as a moderator.
  • At least 1,000 edits (any namespace).
  • At least 300 mainspace edits.
  • Current Chat Moderator rights.

Bureaucrat[]

  • Bureaucrats are simply administrators who have the ability to promote other users to admin, and can't be demoted unless they do so themselves or Wikia Staff get involved. See the bureaucrat paragraph for more information.
  • If their request fails, candidates must wait 8 weeks before submitting an additional request.
  • For a request to pass, the candidate must have at least 25 supporting votes, with at least 80% support out of the total supporting and opposing votes.
  • Only bureaucrats are authorized to close and archive bureaucrat requests.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 6 months on the LMBW as an administrator.
  • Activity at the time of the request (users decide whether or not they are active enough).
  • Current administrator rights.

Voting[]

Only users with registered accounts and who have been on the Wiki for at least 1 month may vote on requests for rights. Users with no edits but meet the 1-month time requirement may be allowed to vote at the discretion of the admins. Users voting in support or opposition to a request must give a valid reason for their support or opposition. Users who currently have a ban or block that is one month long or longer may not vote. Votes on current RfRs from users who get globally blocked or permanently blocked/banned at the time of the vote will be revoked. Inactive users are also not allowed to vote, and what qualifies as inactive will be decided by the administrators and discussion moderators using common sense.

Unacceptable reasons for casting a vote include:

  • I dislike this user, therefore I will oppose them.
  • This user is my friend, therefore I will support them.
  • This user opposed my request for rights, therefore I will oppose their request.
  • This user supported my request, therefore I will support their request.

Advertising Requests[]

Sharing links to your request for rights, or for another user's request, is acceptable. However, spamming links and harassing other users to gain votes is not acceptable.

Inactivity[]

If a non-bureaucrat user has been inactive for at least 6 months, they may be demoted by an administrator. If they return within a month, they may request to have their rights returned by an admin, otherwise they must put up a new RfR. An exception to this is if a user gives a reason for leaving, and will return afterwards.
