The beliefs which we have most warrant for, have no safeguard to rest on, but a standing invitation to the whole world to prove them unfounded.

I am known by many names, primarily Obi, Obi-Wan, Obadiah, and occasionally Obes. My LEGO.com user name is 8ObiWan88, and you can read that page to learn about my time on the Boards. I have been on this wiki since early 2012, and have enjoyed being a part of the community ever since. I primarily joined this wiki to spend time with and make friends, and that continues to be my priority. Another one of my priorities is improving the wiki as an administrator. You can find me in chat fairly often, and I am constantly monitoring Wiki Activity. Feel free to leave a message on my wall if you have any questions, concerns, criticisms, or other feedback.
Salus populi suprema lex esto.
My administrative philosophy is summed up in the maxim quoted above: let the good of the people be the supreme law. I believe that administrators should use their rights solely for the good of the community and to improve the quality of the collective wiki experience. This means setting aside traditions within the current administration if necessary, and emphasizing transparency and cooperation with the community. I strongly encourage the community to participate in creating its own guidelines and having more influence over who will be trusted with rights on the wiki. Nonetheless, it is paramount to recognize certain objective moral guidelines that should be recognized by all communities, such as refraining from personal attacks. We should also recognize that the ability to engage in constructive dialogue and make decisions without descending into flamewars or other disruptive altercations is a mark of a mature community.
Moreover, it ought to be recognized that administrator is not a rank, nor is it a "status" that should be desired because it is "cool". It should never be used to make users feel as if they are inferior. Instead, administrator is a responsibility. Administrators have authority and influence on the wiki that other users do not have; the tradeoff is that they should be careful to adhere to policy and set a positive example for other users to follow. Administrator rights should never be used to avoid punishment for violations of the rules.
