It's My Turn

I always hated goodbye blogs. They caused needless and pointless drama, and seem to often end up just being a way to get the feeling that you're to be missed. I always thought that if someone was going to leave, it'd best be done by just... leaving. Set up some ways to keep in touch with your closest friends, and go without the drama. That way, you wouldn't shred your credibility when you came bouncing back because you never intended to leave in the first place, you just wanted to throw a pity-party. Not accusing anyone here, don't even have any particular user in mind; I'm just saying. But that being said, it must seem incredibly hypocritical that I'm telling you all of this... in a leaving blog.

Except that this isn't a leaving blog, it's…

Violin Recital

Sorry for the random coughing/tapping throughout. And my tonal quality was lost a bit through the acoustics/recording location. All in all, though, I think it was a net win. :D

Civilization V - Free Weekend!

I know a few people have asked about this before, but I can't remember who, so into a blog post it goes. Sid Meier's Civilization V is on sale via Steam, plus it's having a free weekend. This means that all weekend, you can play the full version of the game completely for free, and if you like it, you can buy it during the same time frame for a whopping 75% off (and so is the reason I love Steam). This means that the base game is $7.49, and the Gold Edition (including the absolutely essential expansion pack, Gods and Kings) is $12.49. This is a fantastic deal that comes around roughly three times per year. I recommend that you all try it here, and for those that asked about it specifically before, this is your chance to get it.

Personal Appeals Concerning the Move

  • 1 Sherman's Appeal
  • 2 Drew's Appeal
  • 3 Seaside's Appeal
    • 3.1 Sherman's Argument
  • 4 Obi's Appeal
  • 5 Kiff's Appeal

The move is evident to everyone active, I'm quite certain. Supported to the same extent, it is not. Brickimedia has just about everything Wikia has and more. So why isn't it unanimous? Sentiment. Just about everyone loves this wiki. At least something about it, anyway. For me, it's development of and interaction with chat. ChatParty was probably the most fun code I've ever written. But I'm deciding to leave it behind, and recreate it on Brickimedia. As a general rule, anything that can't be moved can be recreated. Chat is one of those things that has to be recreated. And some people just don't want to try something new.

I understand how some peop…

Chat Rules: Yet Another Comment

I'm sure everyone's sick of these by now, which is why I'm going to make this one different. You'll see how momentarily. I'd like to encourage people to not make a long chain of these, as last time someone blogged a major complaint, a decent portion of the community's users each created one of their own. This really watered down the coherence and in turn the effectiveness of the message. Before I go on, since this will include chat moderation as well as the rules, I want to say that I am not accusing chat moderators for anything. I am pointing out what is wrong with the current system of moderation that they use. This system does not apply to every moderator, and even the ones that it does apply to are not any worse people than anyone else in…
